Onkyo TX-NR708 AV Receiver
Both of these receivers are 7.2 channels with copious amount or power enough to drive even low impedance speakers to realistic volume levels. They now support media streaming if you have a connected PC. And for the first time Onkyo’s receivers will be able to play FLAC files. Other compatible file formats are MP3, WMA, WMA Lossless, WAV, Ogg Vorbis, AAC, and LPCM.
They come with more than ample connectivity possibilities. You get a generous 7 HDMI 1.4a connections, an Ethernet port, full 1080p video upscaling using Faroudja’s DCDi Cinema technology, USB input for your iPod/iPhone and also multi-room setup options. Latest generation lossless codecs like Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio are also supported. There is also Dolby Pro Logic IIz and Audyssey DSX.
These models have earned the THX Select2 Plus stamp of approval from THX for their having passed quality and performance benchmarks.
